The first day of tights

'The first day of tights' - this was the headline for an interesting piece published in the London Evening Standard newspaper yesterday.

The writer, Phoebe Luckhurst, discusses options now the cooler autumn weather has arrived.

The writer asks: 'Pattern or plain black? Sheer 20 denier or the dark envelope of 70?'

I wonder what Hosiery for Men readers will be going for this autumn. Thick dark opaque tights or something a little more adventurous? Two of my choices are the amazing Nylonica Silk 70 Opaque Tights that I recently reviewed, and the Falke Cotton Rib Tights which will be reviewed very soon.

It would be great if Hosiery for Men readers shared some of their choices.

Hosiery For Men is sustained by hosiery retailers and manufacturers who generously provide us with samples for us to review. 1. My choice is Falke Dots! It is like fine mesh instead of fine knit but does feel soft unlike some other net tights. As such it may also be more durable. XL is big enough for my 185 cm and 85 kg.

  3. Oroblu are excellent. Check our recent review of the Oroblu Chantal 120 Denier Opaque Tights.

  4. I shall be in M&S Silky Soft opaques under my suit - the shine means little friction - and when in shorts, probably Aristoc Ultra 5 which while on the small side, are lovely in feel and looks. Also, Wolford Magic 12 sheer microfibre tights - again with shorts.

  7. Okay ;-)

Beware; the Satin 60 are slightly feminine because of the shine. The Warm-Up is real basic and warm sock replacer...

  8. Not sure why shiny = feminine. My cycling tights are shiny but that's in no way girly...
