Reviewed: Comfort4Men Microcotton Opaque Support Tights

Comfort4Men, the leading European men's hosiery brand, kindly sent us a sample of their new Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights.

Comfort4Men tights for men are made in Germany to the highest standards. They are tights that are specifically designed to provide an excellent fit and level of comfort for the male anatomy.

The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are part of Comfort4Men's extensive range of support tights for men. These are available in Light, Medium and Strong support styles. This Microcotton style comes under the Medium support category.

The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are available in high waist and low waist versions.

My preference is usually for the high waist style in Comfort4Men tights. These provide plenty of room for me in the brief and abdominal area and ensure the tights stretch well above the waist.

The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are available in four colours and a choice of a fly opening or closed front pouch.

The sample provided to me by Comfort4Men had the following features:

  • High waist
  • Colour: Schoko
  • Fly opening: No
  • Size: 6

Materials and features
The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are packaged in the customary Comfort4Men style: a card enclosure wrapped in a cellophane sleeve.

These tights are made from made from 55% Cotton, 32% Polyamide and and 13% Elastane.

Comfort4Men state that the tights have a support strength of approximately 14 mmHg. Compression levels are normally measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). The higher the number, the higher the compression. 14 mmHg is considered to be just below the level that is considered moderate compression.

The fabric feels quite robust and smooth, but not silky soft.

Opaque coverage on the leg is quite dense and even. Appearance is matt. The tights look like 70 denier cotton tights.

An interesting feature of the fabric is that the outside of the tights is microfibre, with a lightly different cotton texture on the inside.

The elasticity is quite strong. One really needs to take some time and care to get these tights on and into position.

The tights are sheer to waist with a 2cm wide waistband.

Both toes and wheels are reinforced. Indeed, as can be see, the heel and foot are shaped.

In the version I trialled there was no fly opening. However they are equipped with the unique Comfort4Men front gusset that is made from a different and very soft material, and designed to provide a perfect level of support and comfort for the male anatomy.

Fit and sizing
The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are available in three sizes: 5 (low waist only, 6 and 7.

I tested them the size 6.

As mentioned above, these tights need to be put on carefully and slowly. When I first removed them from the packaging and started tom put them on, I thought that they were going to be too small. It took some patience to carefully get the foot and heel in place as the compression is really quite tight. After getting the tights in place on the feet they need to be carefully pulled up the calves and thighs, making sure the fabric is spread evenly.

There is actually plenty of stretch and once you finally pull the brief over the buttocks, the fit feels like a second skin. Wow, you can feel the compression the full length of the leg.

The sensation is one of real comfort and wellbeing. I am really glad that these tights had the unique Comfort4Men from gusset/pouch as without it the brief may have been too tight and
even uncomfortable in a sensitive area!

The brief (in the high waist version) stretches comfortably above the waist. The tights stayed in position all day and once on there is no need for pulling up or adjustment.

I note that Comfort4Men also provide show size information.

This is quite useful as I take a 10.5 shoe size (UK) and I wonder if a size 7 might have been a slightly better option with this style. I always go for a size 6 in Comfort4Men tights, but my advice would be to go a size higher than normal with the Microcotton Support Tights.

Colour range
The Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are available in four colours:

  • Black
  • Schoko (dark brown)
  • Caramel (beige)
  • Graphit (Grey)
I tested a pair in the Schoko colour.

Conclusion
The Comfort4Men Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights are another excellent product from one of favourite hosiery brands.

It's always exciting when Comfort4Men release a new style onto the market and the Microcotton tights are a welcome addition to the support range.

As I have remarked previously, you can more or less customise the style you need with the colour, fly and other options available.

What most impressed me about the Microcotton Men's Opaque Support Tights is that genuinely energise the legs. I would really recommend these tights if you are standing or sitting at work for long periods as they definitely provide a remarkable feeling of wellbeing. It's like having your legs massaged the whole day.

Another bonus is that these are tights you can wear without the need for socks or even underwear. They work as one complete garment.

Thanks again to Comfort4Men for the sample and the great support they provide for this blog.
