Reviewed: Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights

UK Tights provided Hosiery For Men with a sample of the Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights to trial and review.

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are part of the Heritage range at Le Bourget. All of this range as well as a selection of other Le Bourget hosiery can be found at UK Tights.

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights seem to be the leg support/leg compression version of the Le Bourget Heritage Luxe 60 Denier Tights, although there are a number of significant differences, which we will cover soon is a separate blog post.

Packaging

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are nicely packaged. The tights are folder around a card enclosure with images of the whole Le Bourget Heritage collection. They are then packaged in a cellophane sleeve, and housed in the outer packaging which is a sturdy card envelope.

Material and features

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are described as "opaque support tights for healthy legs dressed with a satin touch."

The yarn is 83% Polyamide and 17% Elastane.

Key features are:

  • 60 denier
  • Sheer to waist with no demarcation between leg and brief
  • Cotton gusset
  • Flat seams
  • Shaped foot
  • Fully boarded (ironed to shape)
A standout feature is the 6cm wide waistband.

A further quality touch is a Le Bourget tag sewn into the rear of the waistband. This is actually very useful as these tights have a shaped foot, and this tag assists in ensuring that you put them on the right way round.

At 60 denier, the opacity is dense but does not provide a completely blackout effect.

The yarn is very soft on the skin and has a definite satiny shine.

Sizing, fit and wearing experience

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are available in four sizes:
  • T1 - Small
  • T2 - Medium
  • T3 - Large
  • T4 - X Large

We trialled these tights in the T4 - X Large size.

As with most support tights, one needs to take a little longer and a bit of care when putting them on. The feet and lower leg sections have noticeable compression. Le Bourget describe the compression level as "medium" and this feels about right. It's certainly not a light compression feeling, as the benefits on the lower legs can be felt almost immediately.

The T4 size was excellent and the sizing information is accurate.

The high (17%) Elastane content provides a very snug fit indeed. Once on, these tights
provide a total second skin feeling on the leg, with no wrinkling or bunching. They have loads of stretch.

The brief is deep and comfortable. The wider than usual waistband holds the tights in place comfortably. I wore the tights twice for long periods and there was no digging in or constriction.

The overall wearing experience was excellent. These tights provide a real feeling of wellbeing to the legs if you are standing, sitting or out and about for long periods.

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are available in Black only.

Price and availability

The Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are available form UK Tights for £19.99.

Conclusion

The benefits of compression or support hosiery can be enjoyed by men as well as women. If you have circulation problems or travel long distances then you should really consider trying them.

These Le Bourget Heritage 60 Denier Activ'Legs Tights are a medium to high end product (from a pricing perspective), but the superb design and finish makes them a good buy at just under £20.00. The pricing compares favourably with the Wolford Travel Leg Support Tights, which we have previously reviewed.

The Le Bourget Activ'Legs are pretty robust and would stand up to some intensive travel.

Le Bourget also make 30 Denier Activ'Legs semi-opaque tights, which are also available from UK Tights. These have a 44% Elastane content in the yarn and are described as having strong compression.

Thank to UK Tights for the sample and the great support they provide to Hosiery For Men. They are a retailer we confidently recommend for their range, customer service and commitment to supporting men who wear tights.

  1. Great review and a product that I'll certainly try now. A good price-point given a comparison to the Comfort For Men product and more in line with my regular product of choice from Kunert. George...
