Updated Wolford Hosiery For Men webpage

Here is some great news for guys who are fans of Wolford tights and leggings.

Wolford have comprehensively updated the "Hosiery for men" section of the online shop.

The page is easy to navigate to under the 'Hosiery' link on the left hand side of the page. This takes you to a redesigned page with an original piece of art showing guys wearing Wolford tights and leggings with shorts. The look is smart and contemporary.

Wolford are of course well-placed to understand the specific needs of men in relation to hosiery. They were one of the first brands to create tights for men, when they launched the iconic "Waist Socks' in 1998.

On the updated page Wolford explain their pitch to male customers:

"As one of the first hosiery brands to create tights for men, we understand a man's unique needs when it comes to tights and leggings. Find below a selection of our legwear designed with men in mind. These products are ideal for sports and other outdoor activities due to their comfort and warmth. All of the legwear listed below come in sizes large enough to fit your needs.

"Once you have decided on a pair you will be directed to its unique page where it will appear with a female model. Rest assured that the tights have been designed to address specific male needs in comfort and function."

  3. At least Wolford are making an attempt to acknowledge the fact that men do wear their tights, it would be nice to see other manufacturers following suit.

I have worn tights for most of my life and have noticed a definite increase of interest on the interweb on the subject over the past few years, I was hoping the tipping point would have came by now where men could wear tights in a more open manner but I fear things are moving too slowly for us fellow tights wearers.

I would wish more manufacturers would more openly admit a sizable percentage of hosiery (tights) sales are actually by men for themselves and advertise accordingly (I would settle for a picture of how a man would wear the product as Wolford do).

My favourite manufacturer is Falke, I find their tights are high quality and well fitting and am sure they are sizing for men but they make no attempt to acknowledge this fact.

We as men don't need anything that manufacturers are already providing, except for a little longer in the height sizing (6'3" would be ok). We don't need a fly, we don't need macho names, tights will do ok; we don't need technical areas for ventilation and all the other rubbish like that we just need to be acknowledged.

Good start Wolford but please don't stop here.

    Dave
