Reviewed: Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights

Our recommended retailer UK Tights wanted us to try some tights from the Italian Golden Lady brand.

Golden Lady is a new brand for us on the blog. You can find a good range of their styles at UK Tights.

We decided to try one of Golden Lady's seamless tights styles, and plumped for the Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights.

Packaging

The Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights come in very simple packaging: a card clasp that hold the tights in place. It's a straightforward design, and the packaging provides all the information you need to know. Positive also that no plastic material is used.

Material and features

Golden Lady provide this description:

"Opaque tights in soft microfibre. All sheer through seam free, adjustable waist."

The Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights are Italian made. The yarn is 92% Polyamide and 8% Elastane.

A first impression when we removed the tights from the packaging was how incredibly small they looked. The brief in particular looked tiny. The depth from the waistband to the crotch was just 13cm. I though that these would probably not fit that well, particularly with such a shallow brief/panty. Well, appearances can be somewhat deceptive, as we found out when we put them on.

The yarn is very soft. Opacity is very smooth and even throughout. The opaque coverage is surprisingly dense for 50 denier, and looks more like 60 denier on the leg. In sunlight they have a slight shine.

As you will be aware already, these tights are seamless. They are also sheer to waist with no demarcation between the leg and the body.

The brief/panty is very shallow, as remarked on above. There is no gusset. However, one can see some unobtrusive and almost invisible stitching on the front and rear of the panty, where the legs have been joined to the body. This does not detract from the description that the tights are seamless.

The waistband has been well-designed with the wearer's comfort in mind. It is 4.5cm deep. The stitching that connects it to the body is expertly executed.

Toes have no reinforcement.

Sizing, fit and wearing experience

The Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights are available in just two sizes: S/M and M/L.

I wore the M/L size.

They were surprisingly easy to get on and they have an amazing amount of stretch.

The fit on the leg was pretty much perfect, with the tights moulding themselves nicely to the calves and thighs. There was no wrinkling or bunching.

The soft, microfibre yarn felt very comfortable, providing just the right amount of warmth when worn with shorts on a cool autumn day.

As mentioned above, the brief looked really tiny, but when worn it did stretch above the waist - not as much as I would have liked, but more than expected. The waistband provided good support and the tights pretty much stayed in place with not much adjusting required.

It's very much a low waistband style, and this might well suit many of you.

For me it was just about adequate, but a high waistband would definitely be preferable.

The Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights are available in Black only.

Price and availability

The Golden Lady Invisible Luxury 50 Denier Seamless Tights are available at UK Tights for £6.99.

Conclusion

These are nice tights from Golden Lady. Let's summarise the positives:

  • Very soft and comfortable microfibre material
  • Excellent fit on the leg
  • Seamless design
  • Good wearing experience
  • Bargain price
The low waist style edges this review away from a full recommendation, which it might well deserve for the price and quality.

If Golden Lady created a version if this style with a genuine high waist brief, they would be onto a winner.

  1. I was liking the look and description until the sizing part. Being a bigger guy I would have wanted larger size. 2XL typically when dealing in women's sizing for pantyhose abd tights. Keep me posted if they do come out with larger sizes please.

  2. Great review as always. I was particularly relieved to see that your experience with the depth of the brief was the same as that of my own - it's a shame but for a 'budget' seamless opaque I do find the XL size in M&S own brand to be extremely comfortable and excellent value with a fabulous waistband not dissimilar to those of a premium price.
