New photos of the Emilio Cavallini men's tights (pantyhose) collection

Leading European hosiery brand Emilio Cavallini recently published a new photo shoot, showcasing their socks, underwear and tights (mantyhose) for men.

This is another great step forward in marketing tights for men as a fashionable and practical choice.

This is what Emilio Cavallini say about their men's tights:

Mantyhose: Tights for Men

Who said tights are only for women?

With his outstanding mantyhose collection, Emilio Cavallini has finally given men their right to make their legs stand out!

But what does the word “mantyhose” exactly mean? A neologism born from the combination of “man” and “pantyhose” - also known as “broisery” or “guylons” - the term“mantyhose” simply means “tights for men”, and they are as versatile and fashionable as their women’s alternative. Mantyhose are a fun and trendy fashion item to complete and enhance your look – a must-have for the cosmopolitan and modern man.

So for all of those who thought men in tights were a prerogative of Robin Hood’s times, it’s time to update your views on fashion!

Make an entrance by wearing them with shorts, or simply keep your legs warm in the cold winter days, by wearing our ultra-comfortable men’s tights underneath your trousers. You can also wear them for skiing as a more fashionable alternative to long johns. Choose among our stunning variety of prints and patterns and make a bold fashion statement: from skulls to checks, from stars to vertical stripes, all patterns are available in both a white-on-black and in a black-on-grey version.

Reviewed: 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights by Bianca Miller London

Hosiery brand Bianca Miller London recently just launched their new 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights.

Bianca Miller London - the brand

The concept behind the launch of Bianca Miller London was to redefine ‘nude’ by catering to people of all complexions, with tights and hold-ups in a range skin tones. The initial collection includes tights and lace hold-ups.

Bianca Miller, created the brand after her own personal frustration of not being able to purchase the right colour of tights for her skin tone. She entered BBC Business competition ‘The Apprentice’ in 2014 and beat 80,000 applicants and 18 candidates to make it to the final where she proposed her concept for ‘True Skin’.

The show culminated in a hotly contested final but in AW 2015 ‘Bianca Miller London’ was born, with the brand intending to build on the direct enquiries from viewers of ‘The Apprentice’, where the brand proposition was viewed by over 120 million people worldwide.

You can find out more about the brand on the Bianca Miller London website. You can also follow Bianca Miller London on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

You can also still read our review of the Bianca Miller London 15 Denier Nude Tights which we published last year.

Packaging

The Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights are packaged nicely. The tights are folded around a card rectangle and then wrapped in a clear cellophane sleeve. Everything is then enclosed in a sturdy card envelope.

Material and features

The Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights are are made from 90% Nylon and 10% Elastane (Lycra).

As you take them out of the packaging, you immediately notice how soft and smooth these tights feel.

They are sheer to waist apart from a reinforcement band running around the top of each thigh. When worn this is, however, barely noticeable.

Seams are conventional, although the central seam in the brief/panty sits quite flat. There is no gusset.

The waistband is 3.5cm wide.

Toes are reinforced.

Opaque coverage is dense and even. Appearance is mainly matt with just a little shine.

Fit and sizing

The Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights are available in three sizes:
  • S/M
  • M/L
  • L/XL
I tried a pair in the L/XL size.

These tights have excellent stretch and I was immediately impressed with the quality of the fit.

The Elastane/Lycra content ensure they cling and mould to the skin.

The brief/panty is deep and stretches nicely over the waist.

Comfort level and feel on the skin is excellent. The tights, which I wore under trousers on two very cold days, needed hardly any adjustment or pulling up.

As a wearing experience, I found the Bianca Miller 80 denier opaques to be a big improvement on the Nude tights. They are better sized, fit better and feel great on the skin.

Thermal quality was very good, providing warmth without overheating.

Colour range

The Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights are available in Black only.

Price and availability

The Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights are priced at £12.00.

They can be purchased directly from the Bianca Miller London website.

Conclusion

I was impressed with the Bianca Miller London 80 Denier Black Opaque Tights. Okay, they don't have some of the features you would expect with tights priced at a similar level, such as flat seams, gusset and a wider, comfort waistband.

However, they score very highly in the following areas:
  • Soft yarn that feels great on the skin
  • Excellent stretch
  • Great fit
I think they are definitely worth a try as a mid-priced pair of tights. Plus they are made in Britain so you will also be supporting a British brand and local manufacturers.

Recommended.
